Retiring ? Some good advice.
Starting Over With Retirement Plans
You know the saying about the best laid plans.... We often find ourselves at a point where things went wrong and we have to start over. Starting over with retirement plans doesn't have to be as difficult as you may have thought.
If I could give anyone just one piece of advice when faced with starting over with retirement plans, it would be this: be an active participant in the process.
I have recently found myself in a similar situation and the first thing I decided to do was gain some knowledge.
You see, earlier in my life we had a pretty high six figure income and a fairly large investment portfolio.
My husband basically handed over everything to an "expert" financial planner.
This expert did ok, but nothing spectacular and I decided I wanted to learn more about how it all works so I didn't have to rely on someone else.
Now, I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I do know the basics of investing and I have learned that much of what we are told about investing is actually not the best advice.
Now I can sit down with my financial advisers and decide whether or not the information they are providing me makes sense or not.
I have a friend who has lost a sizable portion of her investment portfolio over the last few years.
Her "expert" recommended what many "experts" recommend when the market starts to tumble; just wait it out.
They tell you that you can regain everything when the market rebounds.
While that may be true, what they don't tell you is that when the market starts to get too overheated you can actually sell off many of your stocks and move that money to a safer investment.
Doing that means that not only will you not have to wait years until the market rebounds and you can recoup what you've lost, you can also continue to make money during the down market!
Doesn't that make more sense? To me it did. I sure never understood the idea of just keeping my money in a market that was crashing and plan on recouping my losses some day.
I am extremely conservative in my investment strategy. I would rather sell off early, and possibly lose some profit, than get greedy and keep my money in too long and lose some.
Something to think about.

Wipe Out Debts Without Bankruptcy !
In 1938 a federal law was passed known as the Wage Earner Plan. It is administered by the same branch of our courts that handle bankruptcy. You must be a wage earner to use the law - that is the primary requirement.
The Wage Earner Plan does not in itself 'wipe
out' debts, but a little-known proviso of your filing requires that your creditors
must appear to verify your indebtedness to them. Statistics indicate that 40% fail to appear,
in which case, those debts are indeed 'wiped out'.
In some cases 100% of the creditors fail to appear, which enables you to wipe out ALL your debts without bankruptcy. If some of the creditors do appear, then the court allows you to spread your payments out over a three year period in smaller amounts so that you can afford to pay.
Once you file under the Wage Earner Plan, you stop bill collectors, lawsuits, judgements, assignments, seized bank accounts, and other actions against you. And to top it off, your credit rating is, in many cases, improved because you made an honest effort to work with the lending firms.

5 steps to Manifest Wealth in your life
How To Manifest Wealth-A Way To Get All That You Want
Life is funny isn't it? You work hard to get all the things you want, but you seem never get them, and sometimes it feels like you are going backwards. Why can't you catch an even break? The answer is that you can have all that you want, and more, when you discover how to manifest wealth.
1. Belief is everything.
Start telling yourself positive affirmations instead of the negative ones.
Everything you have, good or bad, is the result of your beliefs. For example, if you think you can't sing well, then you are right. However, if you would like to sing and believe that it's possible, even remotely possible, then you can move forward and improve your singing. Beliefs can be deep-seated and they can take time to discover and change. New beliefs can take time to adopt, but you can bridge the gap between non-belief and belief by believing that you will believe some day. This concept is also necessary to stop bad habits, such as smoking, drinking and the like.
2. What you have isn't the same as what you will get.
Take responsibility for your own actions and make positive decisions for your life.
Too many people fall into the trap of believing that they will always have what they have. These are the people who make excuses and are quick to blame others. Maybe they say that they aren't educated enough, or that the government is keeping them down, but that's nothing more than justifying their own bad situation. You don't have to be like that. Once you understand how to manifest wealth, you will also understand that the future has better things in store.
3. Positive expectation is the key.
Once you believe you can get what you want and you start to understand the "good stuff" is coming, you need to wait for it with positive expectation. Imagine a kid seeing a bunch of presents under the Christmas tree. The child knows the presents are for them, and it's only a matter of time before they can rip off the wrapping paper to see what's inside. That's the feeling you should have.
4. Be receptive but not gullible
. Another key to manifesting wealth is accepting the good things that come your way. Just about everybody thinks they would be more than happy to take any wealth that was offered to them, but you can do a little experiment to see if this is true. Take a five-dollar bill and try to give it away to a stranger, with no strings attached. You may be surprised at how many people eye you with suspicion and refuse to take the money. Would you take it? Being receptive is how you show you are ready for wealth, so get in the habit as soon as you can.
5. Be thankful. Gratitude is a wonderful characteristic. Have you ever given a gift to someone, only to have them say something negative about it? Not only do you start wondering why you gave them the gift, but you start to think about whether or not you will give them any gifts in the future. The same concept comes into play when learning how to manifest wealth. Be grateful for what you have and more good stuff will come your way.

Credit card interest rates
Credit Card Interest Rates-Victims Of A Snow Job
I think that recently many of us have begun to wake up to the wonderful snow job that we have fallen victim of. We now see that too much credit is a losers game.
But, you still may have credit and it may take you time to untangle yourself. In the meantime you should find out all you can about credit card interest rates.
You see credit card interest rates can be affected by many things. The first thing you are likely to think of is your credit score.
And it is true, your credit score will determine the amount of interest you pay on your credit card (as well as on every loan you have).
But, what affects your credit score? Well, have you paid your credit card bill late... even once? If so, it's very likely that the card company raised your interest rate and dinged your credit score.
They will use pretty much any type of trick they can to get more money out of you. Make sure you pay at least the minimum every month and on time.
Another thing you really need to learn to do, no matter how tedious and hard to understand it is, is to read the fine print every single time you get a bill.
Very often the credit card company will put some new terms into effect and that will be on your bill. But the problem comes because few people actually read over their whole bill every single month.
If you don't, you may find that the terms such as the due date, or where you have to send your payment have changed.
If you miss that information and you send your bill out late or to the wrong place your payment will be late.
That is all the company needs to ding you and increase your interest rate. So, the moral of the story is read your bills over thoroughly every single month.
Getting rid of your cards as soon as you can is a great idea also.
Another thing you can do is to change cards. If you can get another card with a lower interest rate you can transfer your balance to the new card.
Again, you have to read the details. Make sure that great low rate will last for a while before you transfer.
Also, make sure there are no transfer fees. If you have another loan with a bank that you are in good standing with, you may want to ask that bank for a credit card.
Sometimes you may get a better rate with a lender who you already have a good account with.
I will warn you though that no matter if we like it or not, banks are businesses and their business is to make money.
Unfortunately, primarily because of increased competition, they are trying to squeeze every penny of profit they can out of their customers.
That is why you need to be on the lookout for some of their more sneaky ways of increasing your interest rate.
You will be limited in the amount of control you have over your credit card interest rates, but you do have some so find out as much as you can and try to lower those ridiculous rates.

Stopping Collector Phone Calls !
If you want to stop calls to your home from collectors you will need to use this tactic.
Cease and Desist- Phone Calls Only
This means that you can ask the debt collector to stop calling you and correspond by mail only in the future.
To use this method simply send the collector a letter asking them to cease and desist with all phone calls in relation to the alleged debt [account #xxxx]. Please correspond by mail only.
According to the FDCPA the debt collector must abide with your wishes, end of story.
If you just want to limit the phone calls you can tell the debt collector your "off limit hours" that you won't except calls or just screen your calls and let them go to voice mail and third,
You can use a speaker phone and a simple recorder to record calls from the collector. At the beginning of each call, simply notify the collector that your recording the call. They probably won't want to talk as much or as long, maybe not at all, when you do this.
I hope this is helpful, Dutch

Can you file bankruptcy without a lawyer ?
As stated previously, I will try to give you little tidbits of information that isn't well known or is held almost secret to the general public on credit related subjects to help you manage your debt for a better life.
This is the first.
How to file bankruptcy when you can't afford it !
It costs between $200 and $800 to file a bankruptcy, depending whether it is #7, #11 or #13.
Many people are so broke they can't pay the filing fee let alone a lawyer fee, but---
TIP: The bankruptcy code provides for installments if you can't raise the fee all at once.
You must obtain court approval for installments, but this is usually allowed once the court is convinced you don't have the funds.
If however you think you can raise the money for a lawyer, they could cost you $1,000 or more depending where you're located. With all the covid-19 related filings you may have a hard time finding one. BUT---
You can also handle your own bankruptcy. Consider it if you are without assets and don't need to be concerned with the complicated exemption rules.
For around $20 at "office depot" pick up an E-Z Legal bankruptcy kit and you will have everything you will need to process your own routine bankruptcy.
If you run into problems you can always retain an attorney to handle that problem at a much smaller charge.
So their you have it. this may help someone when they need it most and it was FREE !
Thanks for stopping by and please come back, Dutch
